Hydrogen Combustion?

What would have to be done for a car to run on hydrogen combustion instead of fossil fuels combustion, not the fuel cell battery and such? Mythbusters did this a while back I think but I was wondering if anyone knew anymore about this idea. What would have to be changed from a typical engine today in order for this to work. Is this idea even possible?

  2. they have hydrogen cars today, BMW even has several demonstration 7-series hydrogen cars, but hydrogen cars are way out of the reach of the ordinary person because they cost hundreds of thousands.
