I tested out a Toyota Prius Hypbrid car today with synergy drive and it is great on country roads with me getting 71.8 mpg, but in city driving my numbers went down to 55 mpg.

Stops totally kill fuel efficiency. You lose a lot of energy on each stop and the battery pack works well, but it should be much larger and the electric motor more powerful so you can have a true plug in hybrid.

You have totally missed the point of a Prius if you don’t like the car because of it’s poor acceleration, speed, and horsepower. This is not a car to street race with your 14/15 year old freshmen high school classmates, it’s a car for us big boys in the real world who need something practical.

No one here or anywhere is bragging about it’s performance.. if they are then they are comparing it to other hybrid/electric models. Stop making a fool of yourself.

Good guess, I am 14. I have the money for my first car right now. I can either buy one or put a down payment on one right now. I work hard all the time and save up all the money I earn. I am looking right now infact, and I plan to officially buy my car when I’m 15. I will get a newer Saab for my first car with the 2.7T 6, 6 speed performance manual, and performance dual exhaust, getting 24mph city with 250hp doing 0-60 in the 5 second range. I can afford it.

Funny coincidence: By the time you will get your license (maybe ten years…yes, you’re 24 then) you won’t have the money to drive a 5.7 litre gas guzzler.

IGNORANT????????????? I know for a fact that the prius cant go for shit! They have 110hp MAXIMUM, doing 0-62 in 11 seconds. 11 seconds is all day. Try this, take a stop watch and start it. Watch it and count by 10s so when it hits 11, you say 60. Its damn slow!

You are stupid! 11 seconds is bad! BAD!! Racecar, right? Okay. 1996 Toyota Tacoma that my father owns does it in 9.8. My mother owns a 2004 Saab 9-3 2.0T, which does it in 5.9. Our bang-around car is a 1996 Ford Explorer. It does it in 8.1 (with my father’s light foot). I timed a Subaru Outback that we got for rental, which did 6.7. My brother once had a 1994 Geo Prizm, which did it in 7.5. Now he has a 1996 Acura Integra GS-R that does it in 4.3. These are real numbers that I timed.

0-62 IN 11 SECONDS!!!! Wholy shit! I didnt even know it was that bad! That is really bad, dude. Nothing to brag about. In fact, you just put down the prius. We all know it, they sacrafice a lot to get it up to 60mpg. These cars are a disgrace. If you want to know whatr real cars do 0-62, look em up and realize that 11 seconds is horrible.
